Overview
We have booked a beautiful countryside location to celebrate our marriage and look forward to welcoming you as our guests. The wedding itself will be a small and personal event on the Friday in advance of the party that will take place on Saturday afternoon and evening. The party venue is a secluded 7 acre campsite at the foot of Hambledon Hill, and features a number of ponds. There will be a marquee for the main event but you are welcome to explore the site throughout the day and evening. A number of yurts will be assigned to our immediate family and the venue have kindly allowed us to offer camping to all our guests for the Saturday night – please check out the accommodation section for details of camping and other options for your stay.
As Hambledon Hill is our favourite place in Dorset, we will be walking up and around the ancient iron age hill fort before the party starts. It would be lovely if you are able to join us for this walk and share the experience of the amazing views across the Dorset countryside. If you are interested check out the Hambledon Hill Walk section below.
To help make the party even more fun and even more beautiful than the invite list and venue already is, we encourage all of you to dress up in fancy dress. To see a list of dressing up ideas, refer to the Dress Code section below.
Instead of wedding gifts we would prefer guests to bring a dish of food to make the evening buffet a spectacular culinary extravaganza! Well, you know cheese and pineapple sticks etc. Do not worry if you are unable to contribute, there will be enough for everyone. Check out the Wedding Gift Page for details of what to bring. We will be providing a glass of Prosecco for the toasts, but all additional alcohol should be brought as contributions to the party.
Parking at the venue is very limited, so there will be a short walk from the overflow parking nearby. If you have a special requirement for parking please let us know.
Due to the venue having ponds, we have decided to make this an adult only event. Additionally dogs and other pets cannot be accommodated, we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and ask for your understanding in this matter. As this is a beautiful countryside location, we ask you do not bring glitter or confetti, thank you.
There will be straw bales to sit on inside the marquee, outside is just grass, so you might want a picnic blanket.

Dress Code is Fancy Dress!
As you know we are both very excited about dressing up and take every opportunity to do so – Annabelle especially!
So we would really, really, really love you to dress up. To make it easy we are suggesting a great many ideas that we would like to see:-
- Flora – Make yourself look like a hedge! Or more sensibly put flowers in your hair, in fact anything involving flowers will be especially enjoyed.
- Fauna – Dress up as an elk! Or any other mammal, reptile or aquatic creature. We would particularly like to see lots of butterflies. For those that want to keep it simple, just wear cat or rabbit ears.
- Ancient Tribes, Races or Occupations – Why not come as a Hoplite! A what now? OK, so any Greek, Roman, Egyptian, British or Oriental tribe would be fun.
- Mythical Creatures – Faeries! Faeries! Faeries! We love faeries, but you could also come as Medusa or a Cockatrice
- Dealers Choice – You can in fact be whatever you want, such as Steampunk, Regency or an abstract representation of the north pole
If this list looks a bit overwhelming, here are a few affordable suggestions to inspire you:
Accommodation
Camping at the party venue is free, let us know if you would like to camp. Make sure you bring your tent pegs and poles! Note that there is no electricity on site. Hambledon Hill Walk
At midday, we will be leaving the marquee and walking up Hambledon Hill and perhaps doing a circuit to enjoy the views (weather permitting). This is a very big steep hill, so you need to be fairly fit to join us. Once at the top though the effort is certainly worth it as the views are spectacular!

Important Info
- ADULTS ONLY – sorry no children allowed
- NO DOGS – or other pets, including fish, llamas and pterodactyls
- NO CONFETTI – apparently you can use a hole punch on leaves as an alternative 😉
- CAMPING IS FREE
- If rain is forecast, bring appropriate clothing and maybe an umbrella
- If the sun is shining , maybe a picnic blanket, sun cream and maybe a parasol
- Footwear for a party in a field – high heels maybe more challenging than herding cats
- There are neighbours, so we need to be considerate, thanks
- Don’t forget to take your plates home, not to mention your tent
Wedding Gifts
Instead of gifts we are asking for donations of food for the evening buffet. Please visit our list of suggestions and select something to bring. If you want to bring something different, brilliant, just let us know so we don’t end up drowning in trifle. Thanks you awesome people!
